Evening Update [Oct. 29th, 2009|08:34 pm]

In an effort to defend its title as the third most corrupt State in the nation, Alabama recently anointed Larry Langford (D-Birmingham) as its latest poster child. Langford, accused of 101 accounts of conspiracy, bribery, fraud, money laundering and falsifying tax returns was indicted on 60 of those counts Wednesday. In all, Langford is accused of receiving some $236,000 and faces up to a maximum of 805 years in federal prison.

And here's where the story takes an ironic turn: Felon Sue Schmitz, (D-Toney) only laundered $177,251, roughly 2/3 of Langford's plunder. For her wrongdoing Schmitz was sentence the absolute minimum of a 30 month stay in America's finest crossbar hotels.

Yet no one (but me) is asking the tough questions: will Felon Larry Langford (D-Birmingham) and Felon Sue Schmitz (D-Toney) share a cell? Will there be conjugal visits betwixt the two? And will Langford write Letter from a Birmingham Jail, II?

There is a moral to this tale boys and girls: if you're going to steal money, it's best to do it in one whack because the penalty is less severe.

All you write about anymore is politics Furbles.
That's where my interest lie these days. There haven't been a lot of decent movies slated for this year, as evidenced by the lack of content on Montag's Review's. You know I follow the news and following the news really means following politics.

it's actually boring after a certain point
Granted, I do live, eat, drink, breath and sleep politics these days (or so it seems) but that's only because there are very important issues at stake. I'll be glad to be rid of Barry come 2012 and I'll more than happily send him a Congress full of Conservatives in 2010.

You and I both know that you are far more than just a political opinion
There hasn't been much else that has held my interest these days.

I agree, the government shouldn't be in charge of education, at least not the Federal government. It should be a State issue and the States ought to allow for people to tax the money they would be paying in taxes and use it to put their kids in private school or homeschool.

If you ever make it up here, I'd probably end up giving you the choice between the two
I don't plan on going to church up there.

Interests lie: Yeah I realize that. I'm just poking fun at you. :-)

Important things at stake: Yeah I know. It isn't that big a deal I suppose I just know that you can really write pretty good when you want to and when you only write about politics you're kind of wasting your talents...

More than political opinions: Yeah, although I can think of one other thing and you already know what that is.

Education: Right.

Church: Yes I know, but it would be good for you.

Then get me a book deal goddamnit!

Yeah, although I can think of one other thing and you already know what that is.
Yes, i know I'm that good in bed, but really, do you have to tell the whole world?

it would be good for you
How would going to chichi up there be good for me?

Book deal: The Lord helps those who help themselves.

Bed: Not what I was talking about. Gah you're obsessed with your own equipment... I was once told by a very wise person, that if you have to announce how good you are in bed to the world then you really aren't that good. Besides you and I both know that that is one of the furthest things from my mind. I have told you multiple times that with this break up I will not be participating in any of that sort of activity for a very... very long time. It just hurts to much emotionally. I couldn't cope with it even if I tried, which I refuse to do. To do so would be to desicrate the memories and love I have for him.

Please Tomas... stop, you don't understand how much this is upsetting me. I'm already on edge and constantly fighting tears and... I just can't handle you being obnoxious about this topic anymore. Please...

Church: It would be good for you because of several reasons, one of which, by insisting that you don't need God, you're missing the big picture. I really don't understand you sometimes, I do understand why you're running from God to a certain measure but realize that you CAN NOT run forever. I ran and he caught me, tore me down to nothing then gave me the world. Granted that world got taken away from me because I put the Love of my life before him on my list of priorities but... perhaps it wasn't meant to work out and the Lord only used him to pull me back up from where I had fallen.

You already know all of this though...

You miss the point of my question about church. Why would it be good for me to go to church up there vs. down here?

There is no real difference between up here or down there. I didn't realize that was what you were asking. I thought you were asking why it would be good for you to go to church period.
