If anyone is dying to write a guest post about Oracle's acquisition of Sun, please let me know. I have the post all outlined, I just don't have the expertise to answer the questions.

I always thought that was a better match than IBM and Sun.

I suppose that all depends on what Orcale does with Sun's IP.

I saw it as a tech piece. We do discuss technology from time to time here.

I hate sun computers. In a government environment, updating simulation software and then using it on a Sun machine takes a miracle thanks to all the IA security crap. Thankfully, the majority of machines are Windows XP.

Maybe Oracle will un-fuck Sun's systems and make them more friendly.

Oracle likely made that move to acquire MySQL (which Sun had previously purchased) as it was beginning to be a viable threat to Oracle. I'm quite certain they'll not touch the operating system.

Now that I'm an HP/UX admin I don't have much use for it. Had to dust it off for this one ;)

Did I mention my XBox360's fan died? Oracle should make Sun fix that too.

Because Xbox is a Micro$hit product, something neither Oracle or Sun have any control over. In fact, with as many failures as Xbox has had, Oracle and Sun would do well to distance themseleves from Xbox.

Better sales than the PS3 (source: http://www.vgchartz.com/?dg=1). Better games than the Wii (source: any store that sells video games).

The Wii has sold more units than the Xbox and Xbox 360 combined.

Granted. It still has crappy games though. They made it a 'casual gaming' sorta thing or something. That bowling game was fun.. but that was a game in a game. Too bad it looks like the next 'Tales of' game will be coming out on it. Time to get an emulator..
