Purchasing The Insider [Apr. 30th, 2010|12:05 am]

[music |Lisa Gerrard;Pieter Bourke - The Insider]

Well, I was going to bitch about other things tonight, but instead I'm going to bitch about this first.

So, for those of you who didn't see my tweets, I wanted to buy The Insider from Amazon because it isn't in the iTunes store. As many of you know, Amazon has this payment method called 1-Click. The idea is that you click button and it automatically orders for you given presets such as shipping speed, address and most importantly, method of payment.

I have something called an Amazon.com Store Card. This is a line of credit that Amazon or some underwriter provides. I have used this card in the past; specifically, I signed up for it in December to buy Christmas presents.

When I went to check out, I kept getting a screen that said that I needed to have a card on file in case I ran over my credit. The message was geared towards using gift certificates, but I figured that it was at least semi-logical to want a second funding source. After all, Paypal does something similar.

So I provided the information for one of my cards and the next thing I know, the order has been charged to that credit card, NOT the Amazon.com Store Card.

I'm pissed.

So I call support to see if they can swap the charge for me. They can't. I'm more pissed.

To top it off, when I went to iTunes to transfer The Insider to miniP0d, I found a duplicate copy of the album sans artwork. This must have been an album that ehowton had given me during the party.

That pissed me off even more.

Finally listening to the music on miniP0d has helped to calm me some, but that doesn't mean I'm not upset over the whole situation.

Just got an email from Amazon. They are refunding the purchase. This makes me happy for all the reasons mentioned above in addition to the fact that the album isn't tops as a unit.

Wow, I'd be pissed too! This kind of thing happened to my best friend once too. They charged her for a payment twice and didn't tell her, and wouldn't refund the second payment they took out of her account.

But it looks like Amazon came through. Good save Amazon :)

Amazon not only made up for their not allowing me to use the credit account that they gave me, but also for a purchase that I'm not all that happy with on first listen. The album just doesn't work as a unit like it did in the film.

I thought about asking you, but I wanted the score to listen to last night. Ah well. Easy come, easy go. At least I dodged the bullet on this one.

Your impatience will be your downfall. Be less selfish and find greater happiness.

We live in the information age. By the time you wait for the paper in the morning, the information will be useless. Please get your ass out of the stone age and join us in the information age.

Aye, it does at first appear a confluence of thoughts does it not? Rest assured though, technology will never replace patience, nor selflessness.

Imagine how powerful you could become if you married the two rather that kick against them, yes?

You and yours, sir shall inherit the Earth - and I know you'll be ready, even if you doubt yourself now - for I will not fail in my job to prepare you.

Gird up thy loin & staff boy, for the future is yours!

For those of you who don't comment on my blog
Your last two entries did nothing for me. I had nothing to add to the conversation. However, if you'd like to watch a train wreck...

We're all very busy - you and I both - I understand this and am neither frustrated, nor bitter because of it. Also, I'm 40-fucking-years-old. You don't have to feed me lame-o excuses. Just like myself with you, sometimes there are things you post about I don't feel require comment. That's okay. I don't sit in front of my computer pining for the days you used to piss me off with irreverent banter.

HOWEVER, I do know what a stickler (and by "stickler" of course I mean "raging prick") you are for accuracy.

So here we go Mr. "Your last two entries..."

Its been something like SEVENTEEN POSTS since you commented to me directly and EIGHT POSTS since you've commented to someone else in one of my posts. You did however, vote in a poll I posted NINE POSTS ago.

I know it sounds that I care - and I can't stress how much I don't - nor do I delightfully seek every minute opportunity to correct you, but this one was just a tad glaring.

Please take this in the spirit in which is was meant and if I don't get another opportunity to speak with you before next week, have a fantastic weekend.

Has it really been that long? Maybe you're just losing your blogging touch.

Perhaps you should think about streaming yourself sitting in a rocker on your porch smoking cigars and reviewing them.
